About Step In Time
Miss Betty's Step In Time Daycare Center, Inc. offers a 52-week childcare program for children ages 1 month to 14 years. We are committed to servicing children without regard to race, creed, lifestyle, sex, disability, political belief, national origin, cultural heritage, and sexual orientation.
Step In Time has achieved accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) which is a voluntary comprehensive process of internal self-study. The center has received validation from NAEYC which indicates it has achieved a high quality early childhood program which provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.
We provide full and part-time daycare Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm which includes structured preschool activities implemented throughout the day. We also offer a separate preschool program Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9am to 11:30am or 12:00pm to 2:30pm for children who turn 4 years old by August 31 and a Tuesday/Thursday preschool program for children who turn 2 years 9 months by August 31. (Children do NOT need to be potty trained.)
A schoolage program is available that includes before and after school childcare and the Sutton school system bus drop-off and pick-up. During the summer, the schoolage program operates Monday through Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm.
Our goal is to have our programs meet the needs of the community. They have been created to address the total development of the child in these five areas: cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and moral. We are committed to nurturing the differences and needs of the whole child.
All children grow at different rates. Our activities are age appropriate as is our discipline and expectations. We know that children learn by exploring their environment and being exposed to numerous hands-on activities. Opportunities are provided which encourage children to make decisions and to take responsibility.
We believe that sexism is inappropriate. Limiting activities according to gender limits boys and girls in the fulfillment of their potential.
Our procedure for enrolling children into any program includes the following:
- Visit the center with their child, receive a tour, meet the teachers, and receive the brochure.
- Complete the enrollment packet and pay the enrollment fee.
- Receive the parent handbook and review policies with the director/assistant.
- Submit the medical and immunization records.
- Pay for two weeks of tuition fees.
